  Thanks everyone!!

Truly TX - With the IA letter they asked us to send an update of our address and activities since we applied. Since I changed job, I sent a reference letter and a job certificate of my new job and that was it. I think they only ask for new police certificate and proof of funds if the time betweent your application and IA exceeded a year.

Sharon, hang in there....the day will come!!

Tim - the only advice I can give is to be very, very meticulous with the application and try to give as many documents as possible to support your application. For example, I have an american high school diploma and university degree since I moved to the US as a teenager, but I took the IELTS test anyway. My theory on the reason there is so much difference of timeline from one person to another is whether they are convinced from a first assessment that everything is true. I think that if they have doubts in certain things, the application go through a second assessment to have maybe another opinion. And I´m sure there is probably quite a long queue to get through the second assessment.
The reason I say that is that I have a friend who applied a couple of months before us through the Paris office as well and he still didn´t get his IA. The reason I suspect he didn´t get it yet is that he went to a private post-secondary school that closed and no longer exist. While we went to large public universities and worked in well known large companies which make it easy to check.

Also FYI, the background check for us took 3,5 months and we lived in 3 different countries including one developing countries.
