Subject: Rejection caused by Loss of Arr. Emp. points?
  Hi everyone,

After my AOR (Federal SW @ Buffalo) Mar. 10, 2005, I haven´t heard anything. My work permit will be expired July 2006, but I don´t think I can renew it anymore. Does anybody know what would happen to my Arranged Employment points (+10) and the applicable Adaptability (+5)? My mark will go below 67 without these points...

I am curious to see the comments here.

Ritea don´t take this guy DB´s word for granted because he is very reckless in his answers,I don´t know whether it is true or not, but get more suggestions....

Hi Ritea.....these are just my thoughts on this:

It has been almost 7 months since your AOR date. I will give 2 scenarios:

1. If IA comes any moment now and the interview will be waived, then there is a big chance that your 15 points are okay. We can just hope that everything be finalized before July 2006.

2. If IA comes and an interview is required..then that´s where the problem could begin. The interview may or may not be scheduled before July 2006. During the interview, they will verify everything including your arranged employment which they will probably ask for documentations on this. For all we know, because of your Canadian experience, the visa officer will consider you a great candidate for a visa approval despite your low points.

All is not lost...don´t lose hope. ...goodluck...

Ritae: Just one question. Get out your Arranged Employment Opinion Confirmation Letter (Annex). What date do you see in the Arranged Employment Opinion Expiry Date?

I´m unclear about your question since the Arranged Employment is different from a work permit. If the date on the AEO Expiry Date is July 2006 there is the easy option of applying for a second Arranged Employment Opinion through HRSDC right away. Your company will obviously have to do this. You´ll get it in 6-7 weeks and then you can forward it off to CIC and all will be fine. The new AEO should have a much later expiry date which will give you time till you get your PR.

In case anyone is wondering what the expiry date is - it is the date that the job offer from the employer is valid for. It could be for 1 year or it could be for 20. Mine is valid till October 2008 so i hope I get my PR before that date.

Good luck.

my LMO has no expiry statement (in reply to: Rejection caused by Loss of Arr. Emp. points?)
Thanks a lot for your quick reply, everyone!! Especially Joe05! You guys cheered me up a lot... thanks.

My friend´s imm. lawyer is saying that she may lose the 15 points if she quits the job without finding a new one before the Passport Request... that´s why I´m very nervous. Have anyone heard about someone´s PR got rejected because of this type of point loss?

Candice, there are currently four types in "Factor Five: Arranged Employment In Canada" to gain the 10 points.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5-4.html
Mine is the 1st one, and yours is the 4th one, I think. My letter from HRSDC is called LMO, it is basically the same as AEO, but AEO letter is strictly for PR applicants who do not intend to work in Canada right away. That´s what I understand from the application forms below.
http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/epb/lmd/fw/forms.shtml

Now, I hear recent LMOs have an expiry just like AEO, however, it´s relatively a new system because my LMOs (1st one issued in May 2003 & 2nd one in June 2004) don´t have any statement of expiry. The expiry here means "by when you should apply for the actual work permit at CIC". I have a friend who got her LMO renewed in Jan. 2005 and working now. She said her renewed LMO had an expiry (Jan. 2006) unlike her previous one.

I´m still waiting for any info about the loss of Arranged Employemt points before/after IA... Again, thanks everyone!
