You send you passport and get the visa.
After you get the visa you have to go to Canada before the expiry of the visa.

When you got AOR (File number)?
When you got IA?
When you got your medical done?
When did you get the passport request?

I had to wait about 6 weeks to get mine back after I sent it for visa stamping.
