Subject: Best Time to Land in Maple Leaf
  Hi all,
Presently I am working as Manager Systems & Operations in a multinational bank in Pakistan , and me and my family has been issued PR on August 03, 2005 with validity till May 19, 2005.

During the course of my analyses, about the best time to land in Canada (keeping in mind available months for me are September to May) i have been advised to either come in October or then in February, becoz december & january are considered lean economic activity months, therefore job opportunities are relatively less. I want to know how far this assumption is correct?

I already have Masters in Commerce but want to do MBA from reputed canadian university, Sharon has advised me to look into Simon Fraser Univ as well, which i would definitely do, thanks Sharon for sharing information. I want to know specifically which Universities in the areas of Alberta, Sask, British Columbia are best rated for MBA programs (based on highest starting salaries), i know i can have plain statistics from internet, but i want first hand market information from the persons who are working in Canada.

Any idea about job opportunities in Banking, I have started job search in TD Financial Group as well as CIBC, response of these two banks is encouraging, please do suggest few other banks where you know job opportunities exist.

Thanks for taking out time to read my posting.

Kind Regards,
Salman

If you land in BC... come in March. it is so beautiful that time of year. the rest of the country, come in April.

January and February are slow economic months. We are in Christmas blues that time of year and the weather is the pits. Not a good way to start your new life.

december and january are the slow months in terms of jobs hunt because there are alot of vacations in these months, people spend alot of money on shopping etc. and companies dont hire in these months. rest are your own plans the way you feel better. Good Luck

if you want to get into a financial institue in canad you should do some kind of certifications (in canada). Actually there are some exams whichdetermine your qualities and skills if you are skilled enough to pass those exams you will immediatly get a very good job.
