(in reply to: Prinicipal Applicant) whoever has the stronger score should be the principal applicant.

(in reply to: Prinicipal Applicant) dear AAA...the 2 posts are correct. I am sure you are aware that in the point system, there are other factors other than the education...your wife´s eduction might be great but your work experience might be even greater so weigh everything and as the 2 posters said...the best applicant should apply as the principal applicant....goodluck

(in reply to: Prinicipal Applicant) AAA, does you or your wife have a job? It might influence who is using their permit. I assume you have a job as she is on the open work permit based on yours, right? If she has a job, and more points, go with her... but if she´s still looking for a job, they might consider your application to you being the principal.
I had a similar case... with Quebec, but it might be similar to how Canada will assess you. My wife is on a student permit, and I on the open work permit. I had more points because of a master´s degree and experience, so I applied as principal. They answered however directing to my wife to request additional documents that would have been required if she was the principal.... However in the meantime, I found a permanent job, so I mailed a copy of the offer. They replied then now back to me, now I was back as the principal, to send an actual letter of employment (not offer)....
cheers
