some of you are waiting 3-4 years for your PR applications. I read in different places that you avoid marriage, changing jobs, having babies, moving... PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!

Immigration is not worth putting your life on full stop. No wonder people are angry and disappointed when they finally get their PR. They have sacrificed so much... for what! CIC never requests this from you. In fact, the website states just the opposite. Carry on living.

There are so many things that can come between you and Canada. By that I mean you might find that your home country, family connections and career opportunities are simply much more desireable than you thought and the risks involved with immigration are simply more than you really want to take. If you do not put your life on hold, Canada will be a much easier adjustment.

So please, life is short. Every day counts. Don´t waste it.

funny. now DB... how would our overseas posters know what you are talking about!

Desperate Housewives is a very popular TV series about a group of women with far too much time on their hands. They use men as their distraction rather than CIC.

Haha, I think I am the only guy always makes fun of anything here. I am those kinds of people never take everything serious, I know no Asian guys talking like the way I talk, haha, they think I am a crazy boy.

however it doesn??t mean that I don??t care if my PR status.

After you submit your application, it??s just simply beyond your control.

No matter I am ??a desperate housewife?? or Paris Hilton, CIC just won??t give you a shit until after 36 weeks of processing.

For those people already submit medical and no interview required, you know what?
When I sent my application, I almost wanna say ??since you been gone??.
I have never fax single fax to Buffalo, even though I wait 4 month until AOR, because from yogi, nobody got it, why I am so specially?

Haha, let??s sing since you been gone

??Here´s the thing
We started out friends
It was cool, but it was all pretend
Yeah, yeah, since you been gone
Dedicated, you took the time
Wasn´t long till I called you mine
Yeah, yeah, since you been gone
And all you´d ever hear me say
Is how I picture me with you
That´s all you´d ever hear me say

But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I´m so movin´ on, yeah yeah
Thanks to you, now I get what I want
Since you been gone

wait ? while in dilemma !! (in reply to: to those who wait)
Thanks Sharon for your nice thread. It is true -- better go ahead instead of waiting for CIC PR. But it is difficult while it is dilemma e.g.

1) Whether to give up promotion or get ourselves stuck ?
While my office is going to invest on me a huge sum on training etc.,it is expecting me to remain in job for next 5 yrs. If I agree, I will be stuck up for 5 yrs. if I not- I may lose promotion. Had I got CIC PR progress, I would have acted accordingly

2) Whether to pay heavy tax or block own funds ?
For saving heavy Income Tax I need to invest for long term (6-7 yrs) means locking my own funds & if not pay the havey taxs. Had I got CIC PR progress, I would have acted accordingly

3) Whether to get transferred or withheld it ?
My job is transferrable causing additional investment on new settlement but I can withheld it for a year or so if I definately know the status. Had I got CIC PR progress, I would have acted accordingly

4) Challenging assignments may elevate my position but it would require to stay in job

Of course, it is better to have an egg in hand than two in a basket
but at what cost ?

all valid points. but I think each applicant knows several things... their points (give or take 3), their general health, their criminal activity and how long it is taking for each embassy to process 80% of applicants. You should be able to predict your outcome within reasonable perameters. you also have opportunities with the status requirements 2/5 year to assist you.

My point, you have a lot of indicators that can guide your long term planning that would cover most life decisions.

Sharon what happened? Did all three of your Arab lovers renege on their effort to move to Canada and forever have foursomes with you? Or ya giving up on them now that you may have dug up yet another camel jack in Vancouver?
