17th was a Sunday! They called you on a SUnday to tell you about visa? Is it possible they do not work on Sundays?

It could still be Sunday in Canada while it´s Monday already in Damascus and the folks at CIC has already started.

Yes they called me on Sunday, Sunday is a normal working day for the embassy in Damascus. They are off Friday and Saturday I guess..
