Subject: Protest rally for parental sponsorship
As we know, the announcement made by the Honorable Minister of Immigration Joe Volpe on April 18th 2005 did not produce any results. In his announcement, Honorable Joe Volpe has mentioned that not only they are going to "triple" the number of parents and grandparents that would be allowed to immigrate to Canada each year but these changes would take effect immediately. However, more than three weeks have passed since that announcement was made yet the official CIC website is still backdated to June 24, 2003 and the processing time has been increased to 23 months. The situation overseas is not better

"Sponsor Your Parents" group is organizing yet another protest rally and you are invited. The event will take place on Sunday, June 5th 2005, 17:00 at Queens Park, Toronto.

If you are a member of the Sponsor Your Parents group, a Canadian citizen or a resident who have waited to be reunited with their parents or if you are a Canadian citizen who simply supports our cause in that families must be united, WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN OUR MOVEMENT. Sponsor Your Parents is a non-profit organization with more than 4,000 members from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds yet with one thing to unite us - the pain of not being able to reunite with our loved ones.

We believe that only together we can achieve our goal - our belief is stronger then, our voice is louder and our chances to be heard are greater!

We hope you will come out and show support for a program that brings families together in Canada. Our strength is in our numbers!

Protests will be organized in Vancouver and Ottawa as well.
