Yes, it is true, the Island in Canada full of snakes, Tigers, Lions, Crocrodiles etc. ready to devour. if you survived the Island in one year, you will be granted Canadian PR under humanitarian ground. Good luck

Shaun, #1 - they are provinces - not state. Nobody comes to Canada without either a job offer or without qualifying. Qualifying means matching the NOC criteria on the skill list. Job offer, means someone has to prove there are no Canadians that can do the job you want.

There may be a way to with a job offer that 1 year of working in Canada will allow you to APPLY for permanent residency but I am not aware of ANY circumstances where 1 year of ´living´ in Canada will qualify you to gain Permanent Residency.

the best thing you can do is start reading - www.cic.gc.ca

If you got an Australian Passport and between the ages of 18-31 you can get this

Travel and Work in Canada

Welcome to the official Government of Canada website for the International Experience Canada - Working Holiday Program (IEC - WHP) for Australian passport holders. The WHP provides opportunities for young Australians to travel and work in Canada for up to 24 months.

As from 02 January 2008, the WHP (for Australian passport holders) is no longer a ´once-in-a-lifetime opportunity´. Previous participants in the WHP (for Australian passport holders) may reapply as long as they meet the eligibility and admissibility criteria at the time of their new application.

This website provides information you will need to make your application to the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney. This is a secure site. Your personal information is protected and will only be used by the Government of Canada in order to process your application for Work Permit for the WHP Canada.

Applying to the WHP Canada is a two-phase process:

ONE: You will need to complete the online application process in order to self-assess your eligibility and admissibility. The application form and a customized checklist will be sent to your email account at the end of the online process. Your application form will have your unique participant number printed on it.

TWO: If you wish to proceed, you must then print the application form and submit it with required attachments to the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney.

Come to the land of love! (in reply to: is that true?)
Just come on a holiday, meet a lonely canadian, marry him/her or get into a common-law relationship ( make sure that this person meets the criteria to sponsor you) and done deal. Make sure there is not a huge age difference between both of you and also that you are equaly or relatively good or bad looking, so it does not seem that you are marrying a monster just to get your papers.
Good luck,

I would like to meet your daughter Vitorellia. If your daughter is not available, how about your sister. .. If not, your mother...
