Subject: Is one-way ticket a problem at immigration check?
  Hi,

I am PR here in Canada and I am planning to bring my parents from India for 5months, they have multiple entry visa to Canada. The thing is while their return we would like to go with them to India and would not like to travel in the same airlines in which I am booking the ticket for them now. So, I am planning to buy a one-way ticket for them now and planning to buy the return tickets later. Will that be a problem in the port of entry for them? Please advice.

Yes there will be a problem at the port of entry for your parents.

I highly recommend you to buy a one way ticket with that airline and another one way ticket with another airline BEFORE they arrive in Canada.

As a foreign national, they should have a return ticket. Although is not a mandatory requirement, it is HIGHLY recommended. Some airlines won´t even let you board a plane with a one way ticket unless you are a lawfull permanent resident or citizen of that country. (final destination).

Your parents have to prove and show every prove available that they are going to return to their home country at the end of their visit.

You should buy a two-way ticket. A one way ticket may be a problem at immigration. A one way ticket will almost definitely be a problem for the airline and there´s a good chance they won´t even let your parents board.

loop holes (in reply to: Is one-way ticket a problem at immigration check?)
You must be punjabi indian , the only thing comes to our punjabi minds are frauds, loop holes , lies, misrepresentations, looking for ways to cut corners, WHY? WHY? WHY? why only punjabi indians who are just 2% of total indian population in india are 90% of indian population in canada. there s something wrong here. we punjabis just want to come to kenedda (canada in punjabi) and drive taxis and clean toilets and work as labourers instead of studying hard to become a doctor or an engineer and then immigrate to usa and europe or middle east for a better life .
