The high Commission in Port-of-Spain sent a request for a criminal background check to the RCMP on January 18th 2011, for my husband whom I am sponsoring. The second request because of some new law. I emailed the RCMP and got a reply on May 20 2011 saying that they did not have my husbands name in the data base, PORT-Of-Spain insist that it was sent (regular mail). I emailed the RCMP asking if it is at all possible that they haven’t gotten around to conducting the search, I have also left messages, it’s been two weeks and I haven’t had a reply, I also had my husband leave a message but no reply.

I have a new MP and he has not set up his office yet and the old MP said they can no longer represent the constituent. The background check is the only piece of information is needed to finalize the file, we are very frustrated as the application has been in process for the last 21 months. Don’t know who else to contact or what to do.
