Subject: age points
I wish to apply for federal skilled worker immigration.

I turned 49 in Nov 09. Will I get full points for my age
if I apply before Nov2010?

my understanding is that your aged as of the date of your application being reviewed is locked in so yes, you would get your full 10 points.

how are your language skills and NOC code?

Please, give some consideration to you skills, your age and what sort of employment you hope to secure at 50. Lot´s of 50 year olds out there looking for work.

Thanks Sharon.
I am a General Physician from India and I am single. So, I
make it to 67 points exact if I get full points for language. My English is good as I have spent some time in the US. I am taking my IELTS in May.

Taco please take Sharon´s advice seriously, your chance of becoming a doctor in Canada is almost 0. Perhaps your knowledge and wisdom will be much more useful in India. Do not waste your money and time.

Taco, you are a smart guy (otherwise you wouldn´t be a doctor) so, take some time and do some serious research on this subject. Depending on where you were trained, your education would be adjudicated and there is a residency component as well. There are several websites for the various Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons that might be of use to you.

You are right that there is a shortage of doctors but the College of Physicians are being very restrictive about who they will license. There are a lot of very good doctors already in Canada that are unable to practice.
