| Subject: Passport will expire before landing.Help!!! |

My son passport will expire in April 2010 and I am still to get my medicals done. Even if I got my visa later this year, I will not move to Canada until June 2010. What should I do? Should I get him a new passport right away so that when I got it stamped it will still have plenty time before it expires or can I get it stamped and if it expires with a stamp, I can travel by just carrying the new one?

Get a new passport for your son before you send the passports for visa stamping.
The visa validity is one year from the date of medicals or the expiry date of the passport(s). In your case assuming your son´s passport has the earliest expiry date and your family undergoes the medicals after April 2010 then the visa validity for all the family members will be April 2010 (expiry date of your son´s passport).

I will be travelling to Dominican Republic April 7th until April 14th 2009 my Canadian passport expires on April 29th 2009. Will I have any problems? Thank You
