Hi Roy,

Any chance that CIC might relax the "experience" requirements for temporary workers, bringing down from 2 years to 1 year or 18 months, to qualify for CEC ?

I understand that you cannot prophecy the future but, in your educated opinion, would CIC be inclined to think on those lines, if there are so few takers for CEC ? Or this is something that would mean a politically incorrect thing to do ?

The reason I ask is simple ... with programs like the SINP, that allow grad students with 6+ months of experience to apply for PR, wouldn´t the federal govt. be interested in finding out the effects of "relaxing" the restriction a bit ?

Thanks,
Kelly

In my opinion, the CEC program is too restrictive, for example Graduate Certificate, Diploma, even 1-year Universities masters do not qualify for the CEC Canadian Graduate Stream unless you have an additional 1 year education in Canada or you are ready to wait to acquire 2 years work experience.

Despite the fact that everybody was included in the off-campus work permit and PG work Permit and also considering the fact that most of the people with 1 year university and college graduate education had university degree from somewhere else. I believe a lot more people will qualify and be interested if this area can be reviewed.

Kelly & ___

Some of these PNP people and CEC people who get heard on selection requirements are lost in a snow storm. In my opinion there is no light on upstairs.

Regarding Trades People

We have a bricklayer who has been on a employer specific work permit from Portugal for five straight years. He has a brand new vehicle, he owns a house (with mortgage), his kids are all in school & doing well, his partner works in a Portuguese Bakery and he makes $42.50 per hour not counting overtime!

His English is not good enough to get him over the threshold for CEC so we submitted him to the Ontario PNP and it cost him an additional $2,000.00 --- Lets say he was more then a little upset. Then ON PNP asks for more and more reference letters from companies that went under or the owner retired and WE WAIT!

Ontario PNP program is struggling too and mainly because of the additional $2,000.00 greedy ones.

The government says we have a special need for certain occupations and then tax on an additional fee of $2,000.00 ON PNP people say we need to keep students educated here in Ontario and then they require one thing, then another, then another, then another, then....... virtually no one applies!

People in my business told them they are missing an opportunity time and again before the guidelines came out and they saw gold in them their hills, one guy yells gold then another "gold", "gold", "gold", "gold", and then we see 210 applied WHOOPS IT WAS FOOLS GOLD!

Government employees who set policy know the demand for these types of programs but the greed takes over when putting the icing on the cake.

I´m trying to rent a second office right now and one would think with the economy the way it is prices would drop and it would be a buyers market. NOT WITH SOME LANDLORDS.

I always say common sense has to prevail and Ontario is changing their PNP right now so lets see if they are listening.

I told them they should improve their website and they thought I was wrong that their ON PNP web site is the best.

What do you think??????

Still holding my temper.
