Hi!
Am about to send all the requirements for provincial nominee in manitoba this coming 29th. I learned from one forum in the internet that the nominee programs is a pointing system and in general it required 55 points over-all.
We have a close friend that living in Manitoba for about 20 years and they are the one going to sponsor me in processing all the documents and shelter when I got there. My family also secure about $10 K in my bank account just for the requirement.
I am thinking if my educational background will be quetioned in my application. I graduated college with the degree in secondary education and I also passed the licensure exam for professional teacher in 2003 here in the Philippines. But, I did not praticed my profession and instead work for a 2 american outsourcing company (first in Title Insurance (First American Title Insurance) / last for 2 years and resigned for a better offer from AIG´s American General/ United States Life - working up to now - both dealing with american clients) for 5 years consecutively. But, before I worked with the said insurance companies, I took up a 45 hour computer crash course (simple as windows, internet and excel application navigation) ... will my education background be question? I already notarized and authenticated all my school records. I am really worried if my job experience will be question in parallel to what i took up in college. I would like also to attached all the awards i received in my recent job just to probe that I am an achiever with my recent job. Also, I want to show my awards in college just to probe that I am really an achiever. Actually, I am a university choir member during college and we won awards locally and internationally (choir olympics in korea 2002). I want to make my application simple, and I dont want to make it overloaded of information. Please give me advise.
Please help me, I want to know my chances. How can I obtain the 55 points ceiling? and what are really standards?
Please email @ daniel-c.tapar@aig.com or simply reply to this message.
Thanks alot,
daniel

(in reply to: PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM - POINTING SYSTEM?) the reason you are not getting responses is because the program is not widely known and your questions are confusing. Based on what you have written, I cannot see how you qualify.
all the things you have listed are part of the qualifications but -
under the general stream application you must already be in Manitoba and have gained worker experience in Manitoba
under the priority assessment stream you must have a job offer that is pre-approved by the MPNP. There is a limited list of job classifications that are part of this program.
please see the list:
http://www.gov.mb.ca/labour/immigrate/pnp/occupationalreq.html
Please investigate the standard skilled worker application to determine if your education and work experience could cover you under the general program.

sharon .. (in reply to: PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM - POINTING SYSTEM?) the general stream says;
If your application is not eligible for consideration under a priority stream, you may still be eligible for assessment in the General Stream if you can demonstrate ONE of the following:
? A close relative in Manitoba or
? Completed education in Manitoba or
? Two Affidavits of support from friends
or distant relatives in Manitoba or
? Work experience in Manitoba
in my case the first bullet will apply.

(in reply to: PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM - POINTING SYSTEM?) well, the criteria seems to suggest that Manitoba has abandoned 90% of the criteria set out by CIC. Not sure how they can do it, and now sure why every person in line as a skilled worker does not request a relative move to Manitoba so they can bring all the relatives to Canada that do not qualify any other way.
so... you have answered your own question better than I have.
