Looks like you are outside of Canada without PR card.

You have to take a single entry immigrant via from Canadian consulate of your country. You´ll need to establish that you are still a valid PR. Which I doubt you can make it. By the next Sept, 2008 you can´t stay in Canada for 2 years out of 5, so sorry to say your PR ship would be cancelled unless you are staying with your Canadian citizen spouse or working for a Canadian company.

in case you did not understand DC... you have 9 months to make up 21 months of residency in order to retain any Canadian status whatsoever - unless you are overseas with a Canadian spouse or working for a Canadian company.

where is your PR card? I have a feeling your PR may already be cancelled.

Does it mean they check every year or so. I dont think so , only at renewal time they check Whether 2 years maintained or not. if not it will be cancelled otherwise it will be extended.
