Subject: Police certificate
  Hi everyone,

I have been in Canada almost two years on work permit.
Several days ago I received instruction for medical exams, but together with that they require also the police certificate from my country of origin although I am in Canada. As far as I know for people who are already in Canada it is requested a Canadian fingerprint. However, they require additionaly the police certificate for my wife from country in which she worked as a locum tense only for a couple of months. I am wondering if it is a mistake or they really want to have it as well. I am surprise because nobody in my family don´t have any criminal record and I don´t know why they are so demanding.
If somebody has similar ecxperience or knowledge about this issue, please advise me.

Thank you!

Nowadays, RCMP name checks are done for Canada, so, not all people are asked for RCMP fingerprint checks. Asking for police clearance from your home country is also a routine procedure. Again, not all people are asked to resubmit these but if you have been asked then you have to submit. Your wife´s pcc request is a bit unusual. You can fax them with the details that she only lived there for two months alongwith the proof but if you have been asked better try to arrange to save time.

Thank you Samm for your comment and useful advice. I will fax them proof about her stay there.
I don´t know if they usually give any response to such kind of additional explanation.
