Subject: Urgent advice needed
If all goes well, I should be expecting my PPR in a month or two. However, I travel alot on work & I´ve kept CIC posted on my locations.

I had applied for my PR in the US where I was residing for many years, then recently I got posted in India & now I found out today that my next project is based out of Europe for some months & at my request they´ve given me a day to think about it.

When I get the PPR, I know that no matter where I am, I will have to return to the US for the stamping of the visa because that is where my application was filed, however being on a project I will not get 2-3 weeks of leave to do that.

My questions:

1. If I´m able to get a few days off from work, can I personally go to CIC in the US & hand them my passport and would they return my passport with the visa stamped on the same day or expedite the process if I request them?

2. If I am unable to get even a few days leave from work & I explain the situation to CIC, how long would they give me to send them my passport?

3. I know that medicals are valid for a year, but are the police clearances also valid for a year?

Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions that you may have, it will surely help me through this dilemma.

1. Yep some cic offices do the same day in-person stamping. Try checking out buffalo.
2. They are known to accommodate special circumstances but you can only land within one year of your medical date. Also, remember they have quotas for every embassy and if that gets filled before you send your passport then wait can be long.
3. Police clearances are valid for 3 months but if you are at PPR stage then you do not need new one.

PR but in USA (in reply to: Urgent advice needed)
I am a landed canadian PR but presently living in USA. Due to personal reasons I will not be able to live in canada for at least another 2 years after that I want to settle in Canada. How to keep my Cnadian PR valid for next 2 years?
