Subject: ? Paying the initial fee
I don´t know if anyone can help, my wife and I are at the beginning of this long process. We are about to submit the Simplified application and need to pay the $1100 fee. We are going to pay by bankers draft, but we are UK residents currently living in Germany (as we are British Forces). Will it be okay for the draft to come from a German bank when we are applying through London?

If not can we get my parents to pay it from a UK bank?

Chris, you can send bank draft from Germany (EURO) but make sure that the Euro amount is equivalent to $1100 Canadian Dollars. Here´s the website for CIC Germany: there´s the table for equivalency rate. http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/canada-europa/germany/visa-fees-en.asp
Yes, you can also request your parents to pay it from UK bank provided the Pound amount is equivalent to 1100 CA dollars. Either way.
Good luck to both of you!
