Subject: From Temporary Work permit to PR
I am in the application process for PR (Quebec program).
I am foreign graduate working in the US. My company is willing to send me to our Toronto office.
Do you think I can combine both procedures together?
If by chance I was granted a work permit and move up to Toronto, will that have any influence at all on PR application.
PLease Please anyone, advice.
Thank you all

I am kinda in a similar stiuation. But in my case I applied for PR fisrt, and recently got my work permit. I guess it all depends on your education, experience etc. I you have the necessary skills and competencies to fill the job in Canada then you have high chances of getting a work permit. At the sametime, getting a work permit would ease your PR application.

Thank you AB; One more question for you (in reply to: From Temporary Work permit to PR)
AB,

Thank you for responding to my request. If you don´t mind can you tell how things are working out for you? Did you have any problem having the work permit even though you had already applied for PR?
Thank you

No I didnot have any problems in getting a work permit. I was not even called for an interview. I guess it all depends on your skills, education and also to some extent on your country of origin and the Consulate where you apply for a permit. Also, if you occupation is under pressure, then you may stand a good chance of getting a work permit.

Yes, I believe the a pending PR application would not be a stepping stone to your work permit.

Thanks again AB (in reply to: From Temporary Work permit to PR)
AB,

I sincerely appreciate you taking your time to reply to my requests. I have a Master´s degree and I am working as an analyst in research company in the US (Pretty strong skills in Statistics, statistical softwares - SAS, SPSS- and company specific reporting tools).
If I may, do you think that will weight enough or not.
By the way did you have to use the help of a lawyer or did you take care of everything by yourself?
I know I am asking too much and I am very thankful that you are on the forum.
Look forward to reading form you soon.
