Subject: Thanks Roy...just 1 question on your reply please.
Thank you Roy for the quick response to my question on spousal sponshorship. In your response you said to "make sure that we answered the non-numbered question at the end of our questionnaires". Our question is...What exactly do they want to see on this seperate piece of paper? Should it be just general information on our relationship, ie: visits we have had. When, where & why we got married. The length of time we have been in a relationship? etc, etc...
Or are they looking for more specific information? I know that in the Sponsored Spouse/Partner questionnaire they request attaching phone bills, plane tickets, etc as proof of the relationship..but should i as the sponsor also be providing them with this stuff? This attached piece of paper and what they want to see on it seems very vague...
Help please!

Hi Darin - Forms IMM5540 (Sponsor Questionnaire)and IMM5490 (Sponsored Partner´s Questionnaire) both state: "On a separate sheet of paper, provide any additional details of your current relationship that you believe would help to prove your relationship is genuine and continuing."

From my perspective the entire questionnaire consisted of items designed to help CIC make a determination as to the genuine nature of our relationship, and asked for the proof you mentioned in your inquiry to help substantiate our answers to their questions. Our marriage is about what most marriages are about - two people (who happen to have been born in different countries) who met and fell in love. Because we´ve both been married before and have kids, our marriage also created an immediate family. So we used this question to tell CIC more about our family - about the life we all share, how our children have adjusted, our plans for our future, and why we´re making our home in Canada. We saw it as our chance to offer CIC a more personal view of our love - our only chance to really "tell our story" in our own words.
