Subject: Can I apply immigration papers to Canada...?
  Hi everyone!
Just one question. I´m an Ukranian citizen. Now I live in the USA. I worked here but recently I lost the job. My American visa expired 01/2008. So, I´d like to apply for a skilled worker in Canada. My question: could I post my papers in Consulate General of Canada in the USA? Or i need to send it to Ukraine?

Manatee,

If you were lawfully admitted to the US for at least one year and if you now reside in the US, then you can apply through Buffalo, NY, whether you still have legal status in the US or not. The fact that you have a job (or not) doesn´t have any effect on your ability to apply from the US.

Good Luck!

I have a current PR application filed in Buffalo. Im a Thailander and recently lost my job here in US and will be losing work VISA. What will happen to my application in Buffalo if I return back to Thailand? Thanks
