Subject: confusion over IA and online status check
I applied on Jan, 2006 and received IA today. No interview required and asked only do Medical. So I logged on to the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS)and found my status is WITHDRAWN. I click on the WITHDRAWN button and it said: Adecision has been made on your application, you should be contacted soon.
The problem is I never requested WITHDRAWN my application.

Anybody can help?

Thanks

Jason

So you are being asked to do take the medical AND.. at the same time it e-Cas shows that your application was withdrawn?!? That´s scary and odd.. Do you have legal representation, or did you file your application by yourself? Maybe e-Cas is mistaken. If there is a phone# in your IA letter I would call and ask about this..

If it were me in the same situation, I would trust the IA letter over e-Cas, but I would still ask CIC what is going on.

Jason, please keep us posted on this.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you Uniden,

I tried to call Buffalo Visa Office and hear only recorded message and no chance to talk to a representative. I wrote an email to buffalo-im-enquiry@interantional.gc.ca and got a confirmation letter but anybody knows how long it takes them to reply?

I did it all by myself.

The following is the exact message when I click on the WITHDRAWN button

We started processing your application on January 23, 2006.
A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.
By the way, IA letter was dated on Nov.10, 2006 and envelope stamped on Nov.13, 2006.

Jason,

Ordering CAIPS Notes may shed some light on the exact status of your application. This is where CIC immigration officers record everything pertaining to your case. If there is a problem, or if your application was indeed withdrawn by you, or someone else, or by mistake.. it would be recorded in the CAIPS Notes.

What´s odd, is that you have received the request for medicals at the same time as you see your application as being withdrawn on e-Cas.

What is also confusing, is that CIC states that a decision has already been made. Normally, such message before the medicals is not a good thing. But given the fact that you were requested to take the medicals, despite the weird e-Cas status message, is normally a good thing.

Bottom line is that your application is far too important, and that we should not be speculating, but contact CIC instead and get the clarity you need directly from them. Just ask them why your e-Cas status was changed to "Withdrawn" when you did not withdraw your application, and whether you should proceed with the medicals. At the same time I would order the CAIPS Notes. Then you will know for sure what is going on. Please don´t forget to mention your case# in any communication with CIC!

Please report back on this issue. My PR application in the processing queue as well and you never know, ..maybe this will happen to me too some day.

departure bay
Hi Uniden, I have sent an email to Buffalo (in reply to: confusion over IA and online status check)
office and still waiting for their reply. Departure bay in the forum said it usually takes 2-3 business days for them to reply. I hope I can get their reply soon.
Another thing, I plan to visit my home country from December for almost 2 months, so I want to take the medical exam next week no matter I get the reply or not. But could I let my wife and my daughter(they are not going with me) take the exam later, such as January or we have to take the medical together? Thanks for your reply.
Last, how to order CAIPS Notes? How long does it take to get the results?
