Subject: Authorizing a friend to collect immigration visa |

hello everyone
Rcently I have receivd PPR from Buffalo. The letter says i can collect it from buffalo or can send my representative to collect the visa. I live in Canada. Since i dont have a US visa I am plannig to write an authorization letter and send one of my friends tomorrow to get it. Before doing this I just wanted to make sure with you guys If I´m doing the right thing. Just writing a letter is enough to make my friend my presentative?

(in reply to: Authorizing a friend to collect immigration visa) Yes you can do that and you should include all the other documents that they may have that you would also like returned. It is called a "Designated Representative" this type of representative is explained in the manuals Inland processing nine which explains what is required.

Read 3.1, 5.3 and 7.3
You can get away with using the IMM 5476 form but it is better to use the IMM 5475 form as explained in section 7.3 find it in the blue box applications and Immigration forms in Canada.

Can you please share your experience ? was it all ok and safe ? what forms did u fill and give to your representative ? I am very nervous and i´ll really appreciate if you can help me out.
