Subject: First time entry to Canada for PR
I am in the process of receiving my immigrant visa for first time entry (currently working in USA). Would like to know what to expect next. Some concerns are:

1) How much time do they allow before I can enter Canada for the first time after getting immigrant visa on my passport?

2) Can I enter the port for a short period of time (e.g. 1 week) and then return to US?

3) Do I absolutely need to provide a local canadian address to receive my PR card? What if I do not know anyone in Canada? Will they mail it to US?

4) What questions are usually asked at the pot of entry for PR?

Your feedback will be appreciated.

1. You must enter Canada any time before your visa (will be stamped in your passport) expires...
2.Yes
3.They do not post PR card abroad or to post box. If you have no friends in Canada then see some people from your community, probably there must be some organisations or foundations to help people from your own country in Canada... or ask a friend in the uSA who knows somebody in Canada, then you can use their address.
4. They do not question people at the ports, they will ask for your papers, visa, proof of funds, goods to follow list, ...and they will say good luck....
