I just happened to see the latest processing times on cic website. The processing times from Paris are wicked slow. I know your parter has applied from there; hope he gets it soon. Just wondering why such delays from Paris, are there so many people from France who are planning to move to Canada or the Paris consulate caters to other countries as well.

Paris covers Algeria, Andorra, Belgium, Canary Islands, France, Gibraltar, Libya, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Portugal (including Azores, Madeira), Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia.

I think the settlement of the 2002 classaction really pumped the system full of applications. when we started we were looking at 12-14 months - now look at it.

For applications received in 2002, 2003, 2004: 48 to 60 months
For applications received in 2005: 36 to 48 months
For applications received in 2006: approximately 36 months

It is beyond depressing. He is attempting a visitors visa in the next 4-6 weeks. I am hoping we can secure a work permit or job offer so we can speed up the insanity.

Well, I can understand how difficult this can get with these long wait times. I wish you good luck with your partner´s visit visa so that you can both be together.
On the other hand I think they should distribute some of these countries, currently being catered by Paris to less loaded visa office or why not open a second one ?
