I am visiting Montreal for the summer from the US. My girlfriend is from Montreal and we are looking at the possibilities for me to move here on a permanent bases.
I am a web develop, graphic designer, and freelance artist with a bachelors degree in fine arts and a graphic design. Right now I am looking for some way to make money while I am visiting and going through the immigration process.
Any help or assistance would be much appreciated.

(in reply to: Moving to Quebec - Work) all you can do is request a work permit with your application. Other than that - CIC will not allow you to be working. If they find out, you could blow your entire application.

(in reply to: Moving to Quebec - Work) Are you applying inland in Canada or from outside? Outside, you´ll just have to wait until you get PR; inside, you wait until you get approval in principle about 8 months after you apply.

(in reply to: Moving to Quebec - Work) By the way, good luck if you don´t speak French. I´ve been in Montreal 2,5 years and it´s still nigh on impossible for me to find a job.
