Subject: is it easier to apply through a Province like Queb |

I am from Mexico but I live in the U.S., I have been thinking about going to Canada, specifically Vancouver with my wife and my five month old son. As I was searching for information on the internet I noticed that you can also apply through Provinces like Quebec, my question is if it is easier to apply through Quebec than through CIC? or since when I apply through Quebec I also have to send my application to the CIC so what is the point of doing it through Quebec. I took the test to see how many points I would get and I got 73, so I think we would have a good chance to be welcome.
Any comments are greatly appreciated
Thanks!!!!

(in reply to: is it easier to apply through a Province like Queb) If you apply to Quebec, you have to ´promise´ to live there for approx. 6 months before you can really go elsewhere. There isn´t anything physically stopping you moving straight away, but obviously it´s not adviseable to move and therefore break your ´promise´ in case Quebec Immigration find out.
For applying to Quebec: application time is MUCH shorter (check cic´s website for federal processing times)
Against - if you can´t speak French, you´re pretty much screwed job wise. Obviously this isn´t a problem in any other provinces.

(in reply to: is it easier to apply through a Province like Queb) you can apply through Mexico City office whih is shorter than buffalo and shorter than quebec route, check out it takes less than a year:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/02a-skilled-fed.html
quebec is a two step process which will be faster than buffalo and than most other offices, but since your mexican you can take advantage and apply as a skilled worker through MC office, once landed you can move to any province you like including quebec.
good luck
