Subject: Leaving Canada while PR
Has anyone left Canada while waiting for a PR and tried to come back?

Please share your experiences...has anyone been sent away, or have an officer noticed you left while you had a processing application?

I know a few people who left Canada for short (month or two) visit to their home country or brief visits to other countries for conference presentations while their PR (skilled person) is in process. Some of these fellers had to get new visa to re-enter Canada. In all cases, there were no probs whatsoever. Just have all the necessary docs to get a new visa ready if you have to leave the country and will not have a valid re-entry visa at the time of re-entry. What are these necessary docs? I don´t have comprehensive idea about these. Look for that info elsewhere.

You should not have a problem if you are on study permit while waiting for PR. However you must understand one can stay in Canada for only six months a year unless you can get an extension. Anyways, I´m married to a Canadian citizen and I´m on a Mexican Passport as well, and I have never had any trouble entering Canada. As long as you are under the six months "Tourist Status" or on study permit you´ll be fine.
