Hi Everyone:
I´m about to receive my immigrant visa hopefully very soon. I live in Mexico and Mexicans need a tourist visa to enter the States, which I dont have. Does anyone know if I would be allowed to pass thru the states with the Canadian immigrant visa (Not Permanent residence card yet) to do my landing in Canada from Mexico or will I have to take a non-stop flight from mexico?

Non-stop from Mexico to Canada.
You can´t stop in the US, even after you have your Cdn PR status Card I believe you will still need a visa to enter the US.

Hi Nelson, I am from Mexico aswell and was wondering about your time line, I work in AB and I´m just about applying for PR (just waiting to take the IELTS in calgary), did the processing go smoothly for you or was the embassy picky or hard to deal with?, regarding documents checking and all that.. Glad to hear about your landing plans. Good luck.

Pues mi caso es diferente por que solicite bajo Family Class in the outside Canada category, el cual dura solamente seis meses. Metimos mi esposa y yo la solicitud en Noviembre 05, y acabo de tener una entrevista el 15 de Marzo.
Son muy amables y no son muy estrictos.
espero hacer el landing en Winnipeg, donde pienso radicar.
Siento no poder ayudar mucho.
