I/we apologize...when you found out that somebody here is from your own country you just can´t resist to use your native language...

anyhow...Jowsie Texan just asked/confirmed if I was a Filipino and I said yes and I asked the same and I asked if she was in the US....again no harm intended here...

have a good life AC :)

Hi AC,
sorry for that .. i had to ask him in our language to see if he was legit.... hehe..

Anyway Joe ... first of all i´m a guy ... Jowsie is kinda a nick that we joke around in the office before ... just imagine this in Tagalog ... hard to explain .. hehe ...

I´m in Houston, Texas ... been here since 2001 ... was in San Fo around 2000 .... worked in IT .... we submitted our greencard applic around 2003 ... still no news ... that´s why we decided to try out Canada .... we´ll be staying in Toronto ... We submitted our applic in Canada Mar 2005 .. got AOR April 2006 ... still no IA ...

Where are you staying in Canada?

Hi Jowsie...sorry for the wrong gender assumption :) Jowsie kinda sounded girlish hehe...

We almost have the same story about our greencard. Mine was first submitted June 2001 then I lost my first H1 assignment after 2 years so my new sponsorship had to start from the bottom in 2003..that´s when we started to think about moving to Canada. We applied in Jan 2004.

I am waiting for a possible employment in Kingston, ON, but if this will not materialize, we have our plans of landing in London, ON. Both cities are about 2 hours away from Toronto (I think). With 5 kids, I won´t be able to sustain them in Toronto...we need a 3-bedroom townhouse/house at the very least, can´t imagine how much that´s gonna cost in Toronto. In London that would be about $800-900, pretty reasonable.

We will drive by the way :). Kingston is only about 7 hours away from where we are and London is about 10 or 12.

Good luck to you kabayan (fellow Filipino) and may God Bless you and your family.

Hi Joe05...dont mind the people who did not like you communicating in tagalog because the forum does not restrict you and secondly when they see that two ppl communicating in a different langauge they should use their common sense that they might be from the same country this is the only way to confirm if they really belong to the same country or not. Some people just want to get something out of nothing which is totally insane so just forget them. Its a pleasure to know that you are from Philippines. I have all my education after the high school is from Philippines. I spent a very good time in your beautiful country. And i miss all my friends there. Where are u from in phillippines actually. I lived in manila, and been to cebu, Baguio, Batangas, Pangasinan, and many more place. Man, Phillipines is a very beautiful country and shopping malls are far bigger than any mall in America or Canada. isn´t it.

Steve...wow small world isn´t it?

Lucky you.. you´ve been to Cebu, I have never been there hahahaha and I was born there...have you tasted Philippine mango?...there´s nothing like our mango...right Jowsie? that´s what I miss the most...just thinking about it makes me salivate. hehehe

I lived most of my life in Makati (the business center) but my last residence was in Laguna (if you know it).

Thank you for your wonderful words about our country. That country has so much potentials but politics always get in the way :(

You are absolutely right about malls, from where I live right now, malls are nothing compared to malls in the Philippines...wow really this so weird...all this time I never knew you studied there...

Thanks again Steve..and hey keep us posted about your case...I am glad to hear about your PPR email...good luck...

Hi Joe

Sorry Looks like the thread "To Steve, User555 & other ´waiting´ detroit cases" of 17th is closed. I just wanted to thank you for the details you provided. I did go through all the docs you had mentioned. Except for the fact that there is loads to fill, yes, they have laid it down pretty simple. We just want to think well for one last time. Since both of us are working, we just wanted to see if we have fullfledged time to really collect every single doc. But your valuable advice on this was really helpful, and thanks again! Will bug you more during the progress :)

Cheers!
Radhika

Hi Rads,

You are very welcome. This thing really needs a lot of thinking. Decide with your wife and please research on immigration consultants...

you can start with canadavisa.com

you can try researching about their reputation, I have heard a lot of good things about them but no direct experience about it....good luck on your decision.

Thanks for your encouraging words Joe. And I am the wife :) Radhika is a gal in India!

And we read about one "Abrams & Krochak" - ever heard about them? Good/Bad/Ugly? Reviews did seem to be good! But thot would ask someone who is experienced enough.

Really it was after seeing your post on having received the PR that I got the motivation to go fwd. Thanks to you, buddy!

Regards
Rads
