Hello everyone,
i m a prospective immigrant to canada.i am in such horrible situation(well for some it might not be) i am an indian student in germany applied for immigration to canada from germany apr 2005 app ,file number recv and procesing startedjune17th 2005 from then on no correspondence till date my problem is my visa is approaching expiry date in germany and i dont know if i cud extend further(i wish i cud)if my file goes to india i can expect the process to finish only 4 years later. just wanted to knowf someone else has also applied from germany kindly reply to this msg or any advices are apprieciated.I would be so glad to recv a reply for my msg thanks in advance

Hi Panna, I can really understand your predicament. However you did not indicate exactly when your German visa would be expiring and that makes it a bit difficult to offer any possible advice. In anycase you can expect your IA in not less than 6-10 months after your AOR date. So you can check that for yourself. As to whether your file would be transfered to India or not would depend on whether you are interview waved or not. If you are lucky to get an interview waver, then the rest of the process can be continued in any part of the world without necessary transfering your file. If however you are required to appear for a selection interview, then the venue would be Berlin and there is no way (to the best of my knowledge)you can transfer an interview schedule to another visa post. Kindly note that medicals and visa placement can be done outside the country where you applied. Hope this helps.

Hi Panna,
I am still currently in Germany and applied via Berlin.
My timeline:
Applied- Nov. 2004
AOR - Dec.2004
IA - Sept. 2005 (Interview required)
In my IA it was indicated that my interview would be scheduled in 4-6 months so I am still waiting.
