normally CIC asks additional docs with the medical papers, at least it was the case with my application because I did not submit FBI clearance or police reports from my country at the time of applying(it was not mandatory at that time in June2004).
But now as it is required for the applicants to submit all the docs at the time of applying, CIC doesn´t need anything from you except the medicals.
In my case I submitted
medicals
current employment letter
FBI clearance
police report from my country
bank statement
and landing fee(though they didn´t ask it).
In your case I guess only the landing fee is remaining and thats what they r going to ask you for.
If you dont want to make your case late for one to two months then I recommend you to go ahead and submit your landing fee.
One more thing, very rarely they ask for IELTS after IA, but I hope its not the case with you.
good luck with the PPR.

Hey can you tell how much does it take to get PPR after medicals have been sent, and is it good to be proactive and send in another FBI FP report after medicals along with updated bank statement and most current employment letter

Additional documents we were asked to submit along with medicals were the proof of funds
