The City of Airdrie (in Alberta Canada)is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada with 34,116 people located 10 minutes north of Calgary. One of our City’s unique initiatives is the twinning program. The City has been partnering with the City of Gwacheon, South Korea since 1997, providing opportunities for Airdrie and area residents to share cultural experiences, develop friendships and explore economic opportunities. Each summer, Gwacheon students visit Airdrie and I would like to thank the Airdrie host families who volunteer and open their homes to these students.

The City of Airdrie is dedicated to ensuring green space takes prominence in all developments, and our parks and miles of pathways add to the beauty of our City, linking our neighbourhoods. In the heart of the city is Nose Creek Park, which is home to many events throughout the year including the annual Airdrie Festival of Lights, a winter light display. In July, Airdrie also hosts a Canada Day Parade and the Airdrie Pro-Rodeo where you get up close to all the excitement. In the past 13 years this rodeo has become the 14th largest rodeo in Canada and is ranked 4th in contestant entries.
