Subject: Need help in deciding post secondary course
I am inclined to take up Journalism in Ryerson. However, I need more information (not from the schools) if this career is in demand nowadays (are Journalism grads having a hard time finding jobs that are related to their field of study?).

Also, if I want to study Journalism (and I live in downtown Toronto), is Ryerson a good school to take it?

Any advice is welcome, as I am still deciding. Thanks.

Ryerson is a good journalism school and gives you internship options. But the print journalism industry is contracting due to the internet and it´s tough to find work. In the GTA you will be competing with all the recently laid off (and experienced) Sun reporters. Your first job will pay significantly less than 30,000/yr and you might be able to double that if you manage to work at the same place for 20yrs without being fired. Don´t let me talk you out of it but be aware you might end up working in corporate PR.

So... if Journalism is not a very good course to take, what is? I hate Nursing but it seems it´s the most practical course to take nowadays. Is there anything else?
