Subject: UBC or UVic?
I don´t want to bother with UBC. I really like the climate in Victoria. Is UVic a good school?

Why choose UVic if you can get into UBC, UBC has a way better rep comparing to UVic. UVic is alright, but UBC is great. Western, Queen´s, Waterloo, McMaster, Guelph are all fine schools, but UofT is still few steps ahead of them. I am not bias, I am just telling the truth.

honeslty people do not trust maclean´s. don´t let them be the ones that govern where you go. you choose. i have a feeling that maclean´s and university of alberta on working together though. how the hell does it improve so drastically in every category within one year. honeslty people do you really believe alberta is "best overall" yeah i thought so, uoft mcgill ubc mcmaster waterloo western, queen´s are by far more superior

Yeah UBC was caught red handed manipulating class sizes to look good in Maclean´s. It was quite the scandal.

University of Alberta is also a really good school. What have you got against it? Because it is located in edmonton?

I go to UVIC and it´s a great school. The classes are good quality and the campus is Beautiful as well as the city.
The city is actually amazing, and there is alot of historical monuments and the harbour is great.
The school itself its wonderful, and I really like the teachers.
Every School is a party school.

UBC vs UVic (in reply to: UBC or UVic?)
I am currently attending Uvic majoring in psych. I was accepted at UBC and was going to go there but I encountered problems when registering that I could not surmount. I recieved a late admissions offer from UBC and could only find space in a couple classes. I decided on Uvic becuase I did not want to waste time and I believe it is a quality school.
I attended college in ON and UVic offered to give me 7.5 transfer credits and UBC would not have given me anything. I am glad that I have those credits now! As for MacLeans´ rankings, I think they should be taken with a grain of salt. UBC does have a more prestigious reputation than Uvic, but I feel that there are other things to consider ie school size, professor accessibility etc. There are so many factors to consider when selecting a college. In this comparison I think both school would be good choices. I can not tell you which would be the best fit for you. I can just say that I like UVic alot.
