It states that if you go to college and complete a diploma, the net present value will be much higher after discounting the interest rate, than NPV of those completing a 4 year degree.

Study have shown if you spend 2 years in college getting a diploma, your NPV will be $800000 . If you spend 4 years in university, your NPV will be 750000. Both assumes you retires at age 45.

Seneca@York graduates get good-pay jobs but UofT kids just simply the grad school rejects and unemployed.

You can have a prestigious honours degree and a postgrad diploma just in 4 years time.

Book smart vs street smart??

Don´t worry, we have BOTH!!

Seneca definitly does not have book smarts. They may have a little street smarts though. And why do you people keep comparing a Community College with a University. Seneca is no where near the suckiest Universities. So, Lakehead is probably one of the worst Universities in Canada. Seneca is no where near Lakehead in terms of academics. This just proves that Seneca College students are all cocky because they can graduate faster. But, you are the ones looked down upon by employers.

Seneca is bad because you saw a video clip of their students falling asleep in class? And students at your school don´t fall asleep in class?

So Lakehead seems far away and some people wouldn´t go there. But, it was recently named undergrad Research University of the Year by Research Infosource. Lakehead may not be elite but neither is your university.

Yeah if we´re going to compare a bottom tier university with Seneca, it´s better not to choose one that was just named Research Uni of the Year.

Where is your source for the NPV numbers? It may be the earlier graudation of college grads gives a slight lead in the early income. The university student would be forgoing income for 2 extra years. Any such gap should reverse in ten years as university grads´ income catch up and surpass the college grad. The operative term here is "should". Not all university grads do better than college grads.

College generally takes less investment in time and money than university. University students invest more time so their expected income over a life time should be greater than their college counterparts. Without considering the time investment, the total life time income does not take into account the original investment. It is the overall Return on Investment (ROI) that should be of key importance, not just lifetime income.

"Lakehead may not be elite but neither is your university."

How do you know what University I go to? Seneca College is bad because all College is bad, especially Seneca because their students don´t realize their dumb, which is proven on the video clip. And Lakehead is not good as well because it has the lowest entering averages and the largest proportion with those below 75% averages throughout Canada, and I don´t understand you can´t see that just means the majority of their students are not that intelligent. P.S. I go to McGill believe it or not.

it is very interesting someone from Mcgill would get his jollies from bashing Seneca. Did someone from Seneca beat you out for a job? Perhaps you got passed over for a promotion?

´Believe it or not´? I have no trouble believing an elitist jerk with a poor grasp of English grammar goes to McGill.
