Subject: McMaster or Ryerson?
hi,

i am aware these are two very different universities, each one with it´s pros and cons... well, it happens that i´ve studied a year at mac, engineering, and was very unhappy with the quality of the program...

i am considering trying out Ryerson, but i´m afraid i still won´t like it, considering i didn´t like mac and it´s a top university...

i just want a program that can give me a solid knowledge in software (soft. engineering or computer science, or something similiar).

any comments about the best university & program for software?

I´m in my 3rd year of Software Engineering at McMaster and I have no idea what you are talking about. First year Engineering at McMaster is a joke. It´s a general program for all engineers so it panders to all the departments resulting in a mish-mash of crap. ENGINEER 1D04 isn´t even taught by the Computing and Software Deparment. It´s an utter joke that turns bright potential students away from Software Engineering and programming in general.

I assure you that if you are really interested in becoming a software practitioner to consider trying out the second year of Software Engineering at McMaster. It is a very solid program that teaches you a wide breadth of knowledge.

But if you´re thinking of other places for Software Engineering I can reccomend the University of Western Ontario or the University of Calgary.

Consider Concordia. I´ve just finished my third year and definitely rate this place!
