Subject: International Rep of Canadian Schools
I´m an UK student in my first year at Uni of Toronto. Some of the posts on here are talking about schools´ international reputation so let me weigh in. Very few schools in Canada are known in the UK, at least to potential students. Everyone has heard of schools with city/province names in them - Unis of Calgary, BC, Alberta, etc. The only Canadian schools without one of those names I heard about before crossing the pond was Montreal´s McGill and Ontario´s Waterloo. In my circle there are only four schools in Canada that attract UK students with their reputations: Ottawa for political science and french, McGill for liberal arts, Waterloo for computers and Toronto for science and everything else.

I am the OP. Yes I do go to UofT. I´m not putting down any Canadian school or saying one is better, only giving my opinion. Smarter people then me go to Uni of Ottawa which has a good reputation in GB but your magazine ranks it low. I don´t know anyone at McGill but I knew it is a good school in Quebec. All the schools I mentioned have good reputations for different things. I preferred Toronto for its chemistry and computers.
