McGill is Research University of the Year 2005 in the medical doctoral category, named by Research InfoSource, Canada?? leading research and development consulting firm. McGill earned 97.3 points out of a possible 100 in its ranking system, the highest score in the country.

Allow me to retaliate:

This thread is intended for information only, although I believe plenty of Yorkies and McGill kids will come in to troll. Read on if interested.

Academic:
-Publishes most research (2nd in world after Harvard)
--> not when you take faculty size in consideration. McGill publishes more per faculty member (Research Infosource).

Rankings:
-Ranked in #1 in 2 of the 3 major international rankings
--> McGill ranked #1 by THES, Guardian, and Princeton Review. That is 3 not 2. What about Maclean´s and Research Infosource that ranks McGill #1.

Social Life:
-Parties are legal
--> what, like they are more legal than elsewhere?
-Most diverse University
--> Nope. International students comprise 19% of McGill´s student body, making it the most diverse in Canada.

Impact on Society:
-15th biggest employer
--> In Toronto only.
-Help created McMaster, York, Guelph
--> So what! UBC used to be a campus of McGill!
-11 affliated Hospitals
--> McGill has the biggest and best funded affiliated university hospital in all of Canada!

lol.. OP didn´t build a strong enough case.

I´m a UofT student and there are so many reasons you haven´t listed..

If I really cared like this McGill student, I would spend hours compiling a list, but frankly, I don´t care. I know UofT is the best and so does the world. Who care´s if this nerd from McGill agree´s (well, openly that it)

PEACE

And have a good year people!

Sure.

Reseach - total matters, not the ratio. Are Luxembourg, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Ireland, Qatar better countries because they have higher GDP/Capita than the United States? No. Easily plenty of shitty schools have better ratio, but they are... shitty schools.

Rankings - I was talking about INTERNATIONAL and MAJOR rankings. I already included THES. Guardian(is shit btw), Research info source (#1 for UofT in total, see above) and Princeton Review aren´t major rankings, and Maclean´s is only Canada (with UofT #1 anyways).

Social Life - Naked Parties in a school is not legal. International students doesn´t mean diverse, locals can include different ethnicities, especially in Canada. UofT is known as the most diverse school in concensus, there´s no arguement.

Impact - Yes, 15th in Toronto. What about McGill in Montreal? I never disregard UBC was started by McGill, but UBC is on McGill´s level now, consult oxbridge history. You have not disprove how the 11 hosipitals make impact in Canada.

Overall, you have not disprove anything.

Why do you consider SJTU, Newsweek, and THES more major than Guardian and Princeton Review? Hmmm, I wonder. Why does UofT think Maclean´s was the gospel for a long time until last year when they suddenly thought it was crap. Hmmm, I wonder. Face it, more ranking systems place McGill higher than UofT!

Social:
Are there no parties at UofT with drunk girls that show a little skin? Come on! Are you telling me that UofT is that prudish? If so, glad I don´t go there!

Impact:
15th employer in Toronto. Am I supposed to be impressed with this? Lame ...
