1. University of British Columbia $209,122,733

2. University of Toronto $190,675,686 *** (see below)

3. McGill University $179,905,925

4. University of Alberta $156,626,161

5. University of Western Ontario $101,741,549

6. University of Calgary $86,180,201

7. McMaster University $79,634,865

8. University of Ottawa $72,208,423

9. University of Waterloo $69,608,849

10. Carleton University $67,719,710

11. University of Guelph $64,565,431

12. University of Victoria $59,691,511

13. Queen?s University $59,449,021

14. University of Saskatchewan $53,548,218

15. University of Manitoba $42,154,794

16. Simon Fraser University $36,356,678

17. Dalhousie University $31,753,804 1

18. Memorial University $29,533,128

19. Concordia University $23,476,579

20. York University $20,900,850

In terms of academic research, I can say Queen´s is by far the most over-rated university in Canada and the most under-rated university in Canada is the University of Alberta.

*** I did not include U of T´s affiliated hospitals, but if you did include them, U of T does attract the largest funding of all Canadian universities.

If you were to divide the total research granted per faculty member, we all know McGill being a much smaller school than UBC and U of T would come out on top as the best research Canadian research university (on a per capita basis).

U of T = $200 Million research funding / 160,000,000 U of T researcher

= $1.25 per U of T researcher

I´m impressed with the effiency of U of T researchers!!!
