"Sir George Williams College"
------------------------------------------------

The origins of Sir George Williams University go back to the evening classes first offered by the Montreal YMCA in 1873. (The first YMCA in North America had been established in Montreal, in 1851).

Taking the name of the founder of the YMCA, "Sir George Williams College" came into being in 1926 as a co-educational institution. It was based in the 1911 YMCA building on Drummond St. (just a block away from where Loyola College was housed from 1896-98).

University-level courses were introduced between 1929-31, and the first day classes in 1932. The first graduating class, known as the ?guinea pigs,? received their degrees in 1936.

Yes, McGill University was at one time called McGill College . Why do you think the Montreal street leading to McGill´s Roddick Gates is still called McGill College?

The original poster must have an IQ level below 70.

Oh, and there´s also Harvard College, and Reed, Oberlin, Swarthmore, Vassar, Smith, Mills, Dartmouth etc etc still remain ´colleges´. Seems like the original (with his <70 IQ/EQ) has his brains up his butt. Get a life, kid! You´re a bigger fool than you imagine.

That statement was a figure of speech, a moot point in other words. It relates to first principles, not a literal representation of reality. Get a grip, kid.
