First thing you should know: CompSci is not electrical engineering. While there may be a few overlap courses, these two programs are very different in where they draw their knowledge bases from. Electrical engineering is essentially applied physics. CompSci focuses more on logic, algorithms and abstraction. Of the two fields, IMO, electrical engineering has a much broader focus while CompSci tends to be more specialized.

Choose your path before the school.

None of the above. Concordia Engineering, especially the graduate level is Canada´s best.

Concordia has the largest cohort of engineering graduate students in the country ?? in fact, 10 per cent of all engineering grad students in Canada can be found in the Faculty.

Wow, I did not know that about Concordia. Thanks for that piece of info. I always thought Waterloo had the largest engineering enrollment in Canada but I guess that´s probably undergrad.

For electrical engineering, I can recommend Lakehead without reservations. I did my BEng there many moons ago. I liked the small classes but it was a tough grind in retrospect.

As an engineer, I have worked along-side UBC and SFU grads and very much enjoyed the experience. UBC would probably have a broader range of elective courses to choose from. IMO, it´s perhaps a better choice than SFU in more traditional areas like electrical power. SFU is good too, especially in microelectronics.

Isn't the Lakehead bashing that has been going on

OMFG, all these posts are by the same loser.

Concordia is one of the worst engineering schools in the country. You would be better off going to the second worst, Lakehead.

No, there are at least four people here on this thread- a Concordian, me (the engineer), the person who posted the original enquiry, and the guy who thinks this is all one poster.

The trouble of the Anonymous feature is obvious. Gee it´s foggy in here. Boo!

UBC and Carleton are both good, but I don´t know much about SFU.
