Subject: Uni. of Guelph
I am thinking of going to guelph for school next year to study bio chemistry but i heard the social life in guelph is very limited and the students are mostly hicks from southern ontario and there is no diversity and hardly any international students there. I am Indian but I have lived in St. Catherines for the last ten years but I am not sure if I will be able to cope with that type of university life. What do you think?

I did not get into my top choice school (Queens) but I got into UWO, UofT, York and Waterloo. I like the idea of not being in a big city so York and UofT is out for me. UWO is decent and Brock is good b/c i can live at home. Guelph is my only concern. Please let me know.

It´s best to walk around the Guelph campus and see for yourself if you would fit in or not.

It´s interesting to know you got rejected by Queens, but got into U of T and Western. Now I know Queens is the best in Ontario.

Personally, I think McGill is tops in biochemistry, since it is Canada´s top research university, but like you said, you don´t want to live in a big city.

I heard biochemistry at Mcgill is horrible. The profs are asses. All they care about is research, research, research. You are nothing to Mcgill. Assembly line education.

guelph is decent for sciences esp vet sci and agri sci but do not go for arts, biz or anything else. all the students in those programs laugh at eachother b/c they never have any work to do.
