Subject: McGill Vs Concordia...?
Hello
I know there´s a crazy debate going on about which school one should attend for business; McGill or Concordia? Many of you believe that McGill is very prestigious and thus much "better" than the John Molson School of Business. Some of you even think the other way around. Being a vice-president of a Canadian Bank, which will also remain anonymous, I have hired many people in the last 5 years. I went to Concordia and I turned out fine! We are fortunate in Canada because university prestige is not much of an issue. Differently can be said in the United States since they have universities costing from $40,000 - $100,000 per year. Furthermore, it is important to differentiate people. Why would you give an individual who payed 120,000 for their studies a high position job when the other payed over half a million? It comes down to keeping the school "name" a powerful tool to get jobs and keeping the education "business´ running strong so people can spend MORE for studies. In Canada, tuition fees vary very little, and even less in Quebec! When we hire people, education is important but we make sure we are not hiring a moron. I have hired MANY morons from McGill. Therefore, it comes down to where you feel comfortable going and how much you know. Don´t let a piece of paper make you less worth it than anyone else.

"Being a vice-president of a Canadian Bank, which will also remain anonymous"

I call bullshit. You honestly believe that a VP of a Canadian bank would waste his time posting on forum to make a crappy university look good? You concordians are even dumber than I thought.
