Hi Folks,
I have my interview scheduled in december 3rd week in LA. I have applied for FBI finger printing and waiting for results. However i was wondering if i need to get a PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) from India as well. I have been in the US since 1998 and am not sure if its really necessary. When i enquired in India they are saying since i am in the US for so long for what period do they need to give the PCC. Do let me know. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

(in reply to: Police Certificate from Indi) You will need a PCC from India. Get it from the Indian embassy in the US. I did that. Fill out the misc. form from this website:

(in reply to: Police Certificate from Indi) The only disadvantage is that this process could take about 3 weeks. Also you have to submit your Indian passport. They will give a letter and you will have a PCC stamp on one of your pages of the passport. If you live near the embassy maybe you can go there personally to get it done faster.

thanks (in reply to: Police Certificate from Indi) hi mmm_doughnuts. thanks for your reply. Since my interview is in Dec 3rd week i dont want to take the risk of sending the Passports to embassy for PCC certificate. I will go to the interview and if they ask then i will send the PP to embassy. does that work.

(in reply to: Police Certificate from Indi) Iam not too sure about the required documentation prior to the interview. I luckily had an interview waiver. I do hope that someone else in this forum could throw light on this subject. Good luck with the interview!

(in reply to: Police Certificate from Indi) You dont have to send the passport when you apply for PCC. In my case I sent the photocopy of my passport to NY consulate along with the fees and misc. form and when they got the clearence then I went personally and gave the passport. I got the PCC and passport back the same day.
