Hi,
I landed in Canada from USA and got my PR approved. Since i didn´t have any proof of residence (Apt lease, Home loan), the officer said cannot give me the PR card. I got a receipt and with that i can enter Canada anytime and look for job. I returned back to USA on my H1B as i have a job here.
Does anyone know how to apply and get my actual PR card ?

I believe you have 180 days to provide an address, try and get a friends or relatives address if possible. If you dont have anybody try getting an address from MBE (mail boxes etc) canada, check their website. I belive they give you a physical address and not a PO Box address.You may have to apply for a Travel Document (Permanent Resident Abroad) before you re-enter Canada. This application is for permanent residents outside of Canada who need proof of their status so they can return to Canada.The Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292) is not enough to get you back into Canada if you leave.

Well the reason why i mentioned the mailbox option is in the discussion thread that I posted, the guy is thinking of having his PR card forwarded from the mail box to his home country (could be risky)

I think The Confirmation of Permanent Residence is good enough if you are entering Canada from USA by non-commercial transportation.

I agree with George, he is right about non-commercial transport like your own car.
