Is 1 hour good enough when traveling to the US by Air? Especially when one is on a B2 visit visa.

I have a connecting flight in a US city, where there will be a customs and immigration inspection. I was wondering if its enough to clear and not miss my flight to my final US destination.

If not, what are my options, or I will be stuck and stranded.

Any tips about what can be asked, documents etc? And also how long normally an I94 is valid for?

Sorry this is not anything to do with canada immigration. Thankx

Yes, its got nothing to do with Canada immigration.... but I am doing nothing significant at this very moment....

1. One hour is cutting it too close. See if min of 2.5 - 3 hrs is available because the domestic flights require enough time for check in. Also I´m hoping you are travelling light, else make sure you mention to the domestic flight check-in guys that you are coming in thru´ a international flight.

2. Customs and immigration and baggage pickup will take you anywhere between 20 mins to 1.5 hrs depending on if its New York or some small city and the number of international flights landed just before yours. Interview is straightforward for employment/business relates visas, answer to the point and all is good.

3. You missed the connecting flight ! Okay, no reason to panic. Explain to domestic flight abt your situation. Most of the times they will put you up on the next available flight, sometimes you have to pay a fee ($50 - $75), but definetely no reason for worry.

4. I-94 should be valid for the duration of the visa (but for B2 visa I am not a 100 % sure.)

Last time a came back to Canada, I had a connecting flight in Los Angeles from Korea. It took me over 2 hours total to get through Customs, get my luggage, find the right check-in counter, check in, go through security, and then make it to the right gate. I also wasted a few minutes for a cigarette.

I had a 7 hour lay over so I wasn´t rushing, but I would agree that 1 hour is really cutting it close.

Just a suggestion,Air Canada has flights almost every hour from major airports in the US so its fairly easy to book tickets with enough time allowance.

If you are landing into the US through an international flight, be prepared for immigration plus collecting your baggage and doing customs. The WILL NOT check your luggage straight to another city within US. You have to physically collect your luggage at first port of entry and then do customs.

Depending upon the airport, I will personally have at least 3 hours between flights. I use Philly airport often, which will at least need 3 hours between flights.

I dont think your port of entry (POE), Denver will be that bad. One hour should be fine. If this is your first time then sometimes these immigration officers can be a pain in the neck, country of origin matters too.Make sure you have a print out of your trip plans .Dont show this unless asked.
