  Sharon,

to quote your logic "2 years of lawsuit settlement will not add 10 years.."

Well I agree in principal. However, there has been a surge of new applicants - mostly with the law firms eyeing to make quick money to get as many applicants to apply with the reduction of points. They know they can easily get a lot more professionals with lower points, especially a lot of foreign students in the US who are now eligble.

I´m sure the number of applicants since pass mark has reduced has increased by a significant %. If Buffalo office did not account for agents handling the increased number of applications, ofcourse there is going to be a back-log piling up.

Look at just in window of last 6-8 months, the processing time window has been bumped one whole year. I remmember when it was not out of the ordinary to get AOR in a month and IA in 8-9 months. Now we see applicants waiting for AOR for 3-4 months and IA almost more than a year.

Also since the tech-boom in the US slowed and there has been several rounds of lay-offs many in US H1 holders have opted to apply for Canada.

I know most of people on H1 waiting for their US PR also have applied for Canadian PR. Irrespective of whether they decided to finally goto Canada or not, the application processing will slow down.

Also if an applicant finally decides not migrate is not deducted from the tally of visas issued. The counter moves +1 and hence quota is filling up fast.

I´m not saying that with changing situation we should expect the same time frame. All I´m saying that CIC should make these information more transparent. There was a time when Buffalo web-site will clearly show what month applications they are processing. That is missing now.

If they make this information public, they will have less people worried and calling/faxing/emailing them for questions.

perhaps they have already factored in the lawsuit cases and you have been given the new wait information.

I agree with starwars on this.

"2 years of lawsuit settlement will not add 10 years to your application time. lets be a little more sane about this."

After rereading the old posts nobody said 10 years where did you get this number from? On that same note the number of 2-3 years which was mentioned seems fairly logical for 2 years of lawsuit does it not?

Until CIC makes some kind of statement about this issue it will be a hot topic. The people affected are going to panic every day they don´t have news.

If nothing else we can agree to disagree and each put forth our own opinions in a polite manner. (I´m not saying you weren´t polite, just putting up a white flag before we start throwing plates at each other)
