| Subject: FBI Certificate - How long? |

Hi everyone,
Just thought I´d check with you on how long it took for your FBI clearence documents to arrive. My fiancee and I sent our requests a little over 2 months ago (separate letters sent on different days), and still no reply... Not even a letter aknowledging the fact that our request was received. How long did it take for yours to arrive? Do you know if there is a way to find out the status of the request, and if so, what is the phone number to call? I don´t even have any kind of reference number to give them. Should I resend the docs?

in my case it only took them 2 weeks to process my clearance, we put a note in our application that we need it by specific date (deadline).

if u have the tracking number of ur package n either mail them or call them n give them the tracking number they mostly do it within the week.

Hi.
It took 2 months for my FBI prints to arrive. (We sent ours in in May). I had called them, about a month after I sent them in, and the girl told me they were backed up about 2 months. There is an email address you can write to, to check on the status, however, they will pull your prints and then that may delay things.

I got mine in two weeks.
I put a deadline 4 weeks out, I emailed mih@leo.gov talked to a lady named Brenda, told her I had sent in the request, I gave her my fedex account number (signed up free online all you need is a credit card) and she emailed me back, said they were processing, and then i got them in less than 2 weeks total.

Mine took two months, but I didn´t realize I could put a "due" date on the envelope. That really seems to help. I also have to say that I found an email (can´t remember it) on the FBI´s site and got a response back the next day.
Moral of the story - put a date on EVERYTHING! ;)
